Turn saved travel Reels into a list of places you can actually visit
"10 places in Barcelona a chef recommends" is easy to save and hard to use a month later. usefull.io reads the Reel or carousel, pulls out every place it names and adds each one to your Places with a Google Maps button.
The demo works for anyone. Your own library opens with an invite: usefull.io is in early access.
Ten places, each with a Maps link!

What you get
- Every place, not oneEach place from a list Reel becomes its own entry in Places.
- Maps-readyEach place gets a Google Maps link, and a rating when Google finds it.
- Your words laterAsk "cafés I saved in Barcelona" and get them back.
How it works
- Share the Reel, TikTok or carousel to @usefull_io or send the link to the Telegram bot.
- usefull.io reads the video, captions and on-screen text and lists every place.
- Open the list in your library, tap a place to open it in Google Maps.
Why saved travel Reels get lost
Instagram's Saved folder keeps the video, not the places inside it. A food guide with ten restaurants is one thumbnail among hundreds, and the names are only on screen for a second or two. When you finally land in the city, you end up scrubbing through videos instead of walking to dinner.
What usefull.io pulls out
For each place the video mentions, usefull.io keeps the name, the city and country, a type such as restaurant, café, bar, shop or viewpoint, and the creator's short reason to go — "burgers and natural wine", "order the pistachio ice cream". It then looks the place up and adds a Google Maps link, plus the rating and address when Google returns a confident match.
A real example from our library: one carousel with a chef's ten Barcelona picks added ten places to Places, each with a Google Maps button and, for nine of them, a Google rating. One bakery had no confident match, so it kept a Maps search link instead of a guessed address.
Each place keeps a 'Mentioned in your saves' link back to the post, and if two different Reels recommend the same restaurant, both show up on that one place.
Planning a trip from your saves
Before a trip, open the Places category and filter by city, or ask the Telegram bot something like "what did I save in Lisbon?". Because each place keeps the creator's note, you remember why you saved it, not just the name.
What to expect
usefull.io works best with videos that say or show place names clearly. Private or deleted posts can't be read. Ratings and addresses come from Google and are shown only when the match is confident; otherwise you get a search link. Exporting a list straight into Google Maps is planned, not available yet.
Questions
Can usefull.io read carousels as well as Reels?
Yes. Instagram carousels, Reels and TikToks all work, as long as the post is public.
Does it create a Google Maps list for me?
Not yet. Every place has its own Google Maps link today; exporting a whole list to Google Maps is on the roadmap.
What if the video only shows the name on screen?
usefull.io reads on-screen text as well as speech and captions, so names shown only as text are usually picked up.
