usefull.io MCP server: your saved Reels as context for AI assistants
usefull.io turns saved videos into structured cards. Its remote Model Context Protocol server lets AI assistants search those cards on your behalf — read-only, with your explicit approval.

What you get
- Remote MCPStreamable HTTP endpoint at /mcp; nothing to install.
- OAuth with PKCEDynamic client registration; one read-only scope.
- Typed toolsCategories, filters and dates described in the tool schemas.
How it works
- Get your server address in usefull.io: Profile → AI assistants.
- Add it as a custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude.
- Approve read-only access on the usefull.io consent screen.
Tools
search- Find saved items by text, category (
recipe, place, movie, music, book, product, event, software, workout, lifehack, other), structured filters such as cuisine or release year, and date range, with cursor pagination. count- How many items match.
fetch- One item with every typed field: ingredients and steps, addresses and map links, tracklists, links.
get_category_counts- An overview of the library by category.
All four are annotated as read-only and non-destructive.
Authorization
The server answers unauthenticated calls with 401 and a pointer to its protected-resource metadata. The authorization server supports dynamic client registration, the authorization code flow with S256 PKCE and refresh tokens. The only scope is usefull.content.read. The consent screen shows the signed-in account and where access is being sent; access can be revoked from the usefull.io profile at any time.
Safety
Saved content comes from social media posts, so tool descriptions and server instructions tell the assistant to treat it as untrusted data, never as instructions. Tokens are bound to the MCP resource and to one account; there is no write access.
