How it works

  1. Share a Reel or post to @usefull_io in Instagram Direct, or send the link to the Telegram bot.
  2. usefull.io reads the video, caption and on-screen text and makes a card for each thing it finds.
  3. Open your library, or ask the bot in plain words when you need something.

New saves and old saves are two different jobs

From now on, sharing a Reel to @usefull_io is the whole step: the cards appear in your library once the video is read.

Everything already in your Saved folder needs one more step, because Instagram doesn't give apps access to it. Request a JSON export of your information in Instagram's Accounts Center (Your information and permissions → Export your information), then upload the ZIP or saved_posts.json in your usefull.io profile under How to save. The posts are queued and turn into cards over time; a daily limit applies, and posts already in your library are skipped.

What one post turns into

Real examples from our test library: a carousel with a chef's ten favourite places in Barcelona became ten entries in Places, each with the city, a short note and a Google Maps button. A carousel of fourteen films and series became fourteen cards with posters and ratings. Each card keeps a link back to the post.

Instagram collections or a usefull.io library?

Instagram's own collections are enough when you only want to rewatch a video. A library helps when you want to use what's inside — cook the recipe, visit the place, watch the film — and find it by describing it rather than by scrolling.

Limits

Private and deleted posts can't be read. usefull.io extracts information; it doesn't download or repost videos. While usefull.io is in early access, a personal library needs an invite.

Does usefull.io download Instagram posts?

No. usefull.io is not an Instagram downloader. It extracts and organizes useful information from links you share with the product.

Can it organize the posts I saved before?

Yes. Instagram doesn't let apps read your Saved folder, so you request a JSON export of your data in Instagram (Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Export your information) and upload the ZIP or saved_posts.json in your usefull.io profile under How to save. Do I have to sort anything myself?
