What you get

  • Only what you likedDinners come from your saved recipes, not random ones.
  • One shopping listIngredients merged across recipes, grouped by aisle.
  • Fits your weekQuick ones on busy days, the long braise for Sunday.

How it works

  1. Connect usefull.io to ChatGPT or Claude once (Profile → AI assistants).
  2. In a chat, turn usefull.io on: @usefull.io in ChatGPT, + → Connectors in Claude.
  3. Paste one of the prompts below and adjust it to your week.

Prompts to start with

"Plan five dinners for this week from my saved usefull.io recipes. Two of them under 30 minutes. Then give me one shopping list grouped by aisle."

"I have chicken, rice and spinach. Which of my saved recipes can I make tonight, and what am I missing?"

"Pick a starter, a main and a dessert from my saved recipes for a dinner for six, and scale the ingredients."

What happens behind the scenes

The assistant searches your recipes by category, cuisine or words, then opens each candidate to read its ingredients, time and servings. That is how it can merge ingredients into one list and scale portions. It only reads your library; it can't add or change recipes.

A real example from our test library: Fish Pie with Creamy Sauce and Spinach (45 min), Whipped Zucchini and Feta Dip (20 min) and Braised Beef Ribs with Polenta (3 hours in the oven) make a Monday, Wednesday and Sunday that share one list.

Tips

Say how many people you cook for, so the assistant scales the servings. Name what you already have at home and ask for only what's missing. Ask for the plan as a table if you want to paste it into notes.

Limits

Amounts and steps are what the creator said in the video. The assistant doesn't know prices or what your store has in stock, and it can't order groceries.

Questions

Will the assistant suggest recipes I didn't save?

Only if you ask it to. Say "only from my saved usefull.io recipes" to keep the plan to your library.

Can it handle diets or allergies?

It can filter by what the recipe cards say, such as ingredients and cuisine. Always check the ingredient list yourself for allergies.
